emmereevesWell the past week revealed that my family has more friends than enemies out there, especially among the Filipino community and the Ridgewood and Queens community.
Thank you to the First Responders who assisted me during the '911' call and those who showed up to take my father to the ER. We are grateful that we live in a town with a rapid response system especially during a pandemic.
Those first 24 hours were crucial and we are so grateful to Dr. Tang and his team for correctly assessing my father's condition and giving him the treatment he so needed at the time.
Thank you to all my many cousins and aunts and uncles who I reached out to and who reached out to me, including Tita Ito, Vienna, Tina, Tita Ella, Chona, and even Tonyboy and all of you who called either me or my father.
Thank you to the Santo Niňo prayer group for praying for my father as well as the Dimatulacs, Cruzes, and the Filipino Queens community and Filipino Tri-state community for keeping my father in your prayers and good wishes. We are so grateful.
Thank you to Dr. Oblas in ICU for keeping me updated especially when they are at capacity during the pandemic. Thank you to the Supervising Doctor on my father's floor now. Your tagalog is awesome and yes, we will try to send Filipino food to your floor. Thank you to the Social Worker Ms. Ola for joking around with my father.
Thank you to everyone who thought about us during this time. We are so grateful.
And of course, the MVP, Doris... you are a beautiful soul, a wonderful kindergarten teacher, mother, confidante of my father and his good friend... And I don't know how I would have managed without you by my side this past week. We are so grateful.
