I grew up in New York City - a very forward-thinking region that is light years ahead of many other regions of this world. I was fortunate enough to be educated in the best schools New York City has to offer as well as being taught many lessons, some quite difficult, on the mean streets of NYC. I was exposed to many different cultures and points of view. I like saying I am the living embodiment of the UN and the UN is actually in New York City. This town isn't for everyone, especially the faint of heart.
I had African American Studies, Asian American Studies, Native American Studies, World Religions, etc. We often had field trips to the many museums and the like.
To be a woke generation and to keep it going we must educate our young and expose to them to as much different topics and studies as possible, regardless of where they reside on the map. With technology being what it is today, it is easier to spread universal views on race, creed, and ultimately love to billions.
It's not just -isms. It's ignorance. And knowledge and wisdom and ultimately love will eradicate it.
